Video Editing Micro Lesson
Client: Personal Portfolio Project
Service: Instructional Designer + Visual Designer
A microlearning video built in Camtasia that demonstrates how to log and update a call in Salesforce. The project uses screen recordings, narration, and zoom-and-pan effects to model clear, step-by-step software training.

The inspiration for this project came from the widespread use of Salesforce in corporate environments and the common challenges employees face when learning to navigate the system. I wanted to create a training resource that felt practical, relevant, and immediately applicable to a real workplace scenario. In developing the idea, I focused on a simple but high-value task—logging and editing a call—that highlights both the importance of accurate record-keeping and the ease with which Camtasia can be used to design clear, engaging microlearning modules.

The project began with a needs analysis identifying a growing demand for mental wellness support in digital learning spaces. The goal was to design a brief, restorative experience that could fit easily into a learner’s day, particularly for busy professionals or students experiencing screen fatigue.
Grounded in Cognitive Load Theory, the module was intentionally simple and low-stimulation, using focused narration, gentle pacing, and minimalist visuals to reduce extraneous load. I applied principles from Constructivist learning theory by creating space for reflection, allowing learners to connect the meditation experience to their own emotional state.
During planning, I storyboarded each screen to align narration, visuals, and interactivity. I used Articulate Storyline 360 for development, layering custom-designed graphics with audio and motion. Every element—from color palette to timing—was purposefully chosen to foster calm, support learner autonomy, and make mindfulness accessible through eLearning.
Project Summary
This project is a software training tutorial created in Camtasia to demonstrate how employees can log and edit a call within Salesforce. The video guides users through a realistic workflow, including selecting a contact, recording the outcome of a call, saving the entry, and later updating the log with new details. Designed as a microlearning resource, the project combines screen recordings, professional narration, and Camtasia’s zoom-and-pan, callouts, and cursor effects to ensure clarity at every step.
The goal of the project was to simulate a real corporate training deliverable that supports sales and customer service teams in properly documenting client interactions. By presenting the process in a concise, step-by-step format, the video models how instructional design can increase user adoption of enterprise software and improve data accuracy across teams.
